ABOUT THE PAINTS:
All paints are handmade in small batches, artist-grade and made using traditional methods and high-quality ingredients. Each batch of paints is hand mulled on glass. Paints are highly pigmented and lightfast. Each paint run takes 2-3 weeks from start to finish. Some paints may become tacky in the heat. It is recommended to place them in the refrigerator or freezer for a few minutes before unwrapping. The pigment is combined with gum arabic, Oregon organic honey, and organic essential oil (used as a preservative).

*Photos are not edited for color. Please note that monitors and screens may vary. For multi-pigmented granulating colors, I use a full synthetic squirrel brush, size 8-10, and Strathmore cold press watercolor paper with generous water and paint. The full brush and cold press textured paper allow the paint to flow and separate for effect.

Each pan is topped off, cured and individually packaged by me. My shipping times reflect the time it takes me to make and package the paints. DustyBee was founded by artist Cori Derfus and specializes in high-quality paints made by hand. Paints are hand mulled to smoothness on a glass slab, poured, and allowed to set for a week before adding a second or third layer to fill the pans. Each watercolor is made with care from choosing the pigments to the ingredients sourced for the binder. Paints are made with either a single pigment or carefully mixed pigments for best results, organic gum arabic, organic locally sourced Oregon honey from Bee Way Honey, and organic clove oil (used as a preservative). Honey allows for high pigment loads and smooth washes. While our watercolors are essentially non-toxic, they are recommended to be used as intended. Some cracking may occur. This is normal and does not affect the end results.
