Rare! Shelley Melody Centrepiece. Chintz. Green Line. Pattern 8909.

A great opportunity to purchase this rare piece of Shelley Melody pottery. Shelley pieces are always very popular and highly sought after.

Shelley Melody is a chintz style design featuring a pretty floral pattern in a variety of colours, on a green background.

Shelley china is undoubtedly the best representative of the Staffordshire England potteries. The Shelley Potteries produced china and pottery of great beauty and diversity.

The backstamp dates it 1925-1945 and it would have been available as part of a dinnerware service when manufactured.

Unfortunately, it has had a repair, however the good news is that the repair is to the lower section, so may not be visible when in your chosen position. This is the reason I am selling it at such a great price. At the time of listing, I can only find 1 other for sale online, which is easily more than double the price of this one.

The one I have seen advertised is described as a pillar candleholder but I guess it could also be used as a floral display. I have photographed it in both these aspects to show how it could look when in place.
