Blueberries can make summer last forever! These cheery blue friends remind us of family picnics, vacations, and (if we're lucky) picking wild berries when we were kids. Their warm blue can perk up your work wardrobe or add a bright splash to any casual outfit.

I make this double blueberry bracelet with two of my 1/2-inch diameter glass blueberry beads on copper wire stems and a slightly larger handmade glass leaf. I hang them all on a Figure -8 chain in your choice of Sterling Silver or 14/20 Gold-Filled. The chain is 8 inches overall, but you can wear it at any length you please by clipping the lobster clasp into the link of your choice. The free end of the bracelet is finished with a matching small green glass leaf. You can choose the color of green when you make your purchase. Your jewelry will be carefully packed with biodegradable plant fiber inside a 100% recycled paper gift box with a stretch bow.

Multiple Items:
If you order several items from my Shop, they will be packed inside the same gift box to avoid waste. If you are ordering gifts for multiple persons and you do need separate gift boxes, please let me know in the Notes section of your order in the Shopping Cart.

About Shipping:
I shipping most orders in 1-3 business days. Free shipping in the US is via USPS First Class Parcel Service (now called Ground Advantage) which takes 2-5 business days. If you need your package sooner, an upgrade to Priority Mail or Express Mail can be purchased during Checkout. If you need more certainty, Message me to discuss options for UPS 2-day and Next Day Air. A signature will be required for orders valued over $500. If it's inconvenient to sign for packages at your home address, during checkout you can provide the address of another place where someone will be available to sign - perhaps at your work or the home of a trusted friend.

The Nature of Mother Nature
Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit and leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches and speckles, make them a tidbit lopsided, and add other small imperfection so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more real.

Process and Materials:
I create each of my blueberry beads one at a time by melting colored glass rods in the flame of a torch. The glass is melted directly onto a copper wire "stem" which will be used to make the hanging loop. I don't use paint so the color will never rub, flake or chip off. Because I make each of these fruit and leaves individually from glass rods, no two are exactly alike.

Sustainability:
The packaging for your order has been reduced as much as possible while still preventing glass breakage. Everything that's left is made from recycled, sustainable or repurposed materials. Brown packing tape can be recycled right along with the cardboard boxes and paper inserts or filler. The organic Kapok fiber padding inside your gift box will biodegrade, but not fast enough for curbside composting. Please put that in your regular trash. Even the red stretch ribbon on your gift box (which also goes in regular trash) was bought at a second-hand shop and repurposed! :)

You may clean any of my jewelry designs using the mild jewelry-cleaning liquid that's available in most department stores (NOT Tarn-X). First immerse the jewelry piece in plain water, then dip a soft toothbrush into the fluid and scrub lightly, paying special attention to any tarnished surfaces. Then rinse, rinse, rinse, being sure to remove all traces of red fluid or suds from inside the bead holes, where they might leave behind a cloudy haze. You may also safely use any of the dry silver polishing cloths that are available at jewelry stores or on the internet to clean any sterling silver parts that can be easily reached.

Gold-Filled materials are quality materials that can be expected to last a lifetime. I use 14/20 gold-filled, which is made by using extreme pressure and heat to bond a sheet of 14 karat yellow gold over a brass base. The resulting product is a wire or tube in which the gold layer represents 1/20th of the volume of the piece. This material is then formed into chain, clasps, rings, ear wires and other jewelry findings that are strong, durable, and resistant to tarnish.

The gold layer of gold-filled materials is many, many times thicker than the coating on gold-plated or “gold vermeil” materials. As a result you can expect to wear and enjoy your gold-filled jewelry for many years without worry of having the gold layer wear through.
