Lot containing 3 circulated full notes , vintage USDA Food Coupons from series 1976-1990. These food stamps are original $1.00 $5.00 and $10.00 face value, authentic notes that were issued to Americans in the program in booklets valued at $2 $10 $40 and $65. The stamps were then spent like regular U.S currency at grocery stores and other merchants who participated in the food stamp program. The merchants then deposited the stamps to redeem their proceeds. Then the stamps were sent off in large quanties to be destroyed. This single use system is why most of these coupons are so scarce nowadays. These coupons are a piece of American history that is a nostalgic reminder for many of humble beginnings and simpler times.
