Lyngbakr is a massive whale-like sea monster from Norse legends said to have existed in the Greenland Sea. The creature would lure sailors onto its back by posing as a heather-covered island, once aboard, he sank into the sea, drowning the crew.

This fiber sculpture is a whimsical piece inspired by the legend, but instead of drowning those who venture onto its island, it soars into the sky above the clouds and people seek it out instead of fearing it.
