Materials: targhee wool

This is Targhee wool combed top. Targhee is fine, soft fiber; this is about 23 microns. It is dense and springy, rather like Rambouillet, but I find it much easier to draft when spinning. This Targhee fiber comes from western North America. It makes very soft yarn that is beautifully squishy. It is so springy that it is hard to coil for the photos. It really blooms when it hits water.

This fiber is dyed in murky grays and brown moving into bright blue, olive, gold and flaming fink and crimson. There are lots of ways to spin this to make dramatic yarn, whether you create a gradient or barberpoles. I included photos under different lighting conditions.
Hand wash only, cool.
Line dry.
