These are 3D files for the world's most compact 3D printable telescopic drone flute. PLEASE NOTE IT'S NOT A PHYSICAL INSTRUMENT, BUT 3D FILES FOR PRINTING IT! In short - this is a functional musical instrument and a fun gadget. It's similar to my other telescopic Major drone flute design files, but this more conservative design sounds better and is a lot more comfortable to play.

The flute is fully functional and super robust. It has two separate flutes in one (drone flute), where the other flute always plays the lowest note in the background, creating a unique sound for the instrument. It's tuned to the Major scale. Playing the flute requires no special abilities (other than being able to blow into a hole), and it has a super simple fingering where you simply open the holes one by one from the bottom to play all the notes in the scale. So no cross-fingering or special blowing techniques are required to play this instrument.

Tuning the instrument:
Before playing, it's recommended to check that both of the flutes produce the same pitch when all holes are closed. If not - you can manually pull on the flutes to extend them to the same length and tone for the most harmonious playing.

3D printing instructions and things to note:
Comes with pre-sliced projects for Bambu Lab X1C and A1 printers. Cap and flute is in separate files. There's multiple different tolerance versions of the flute - use the one with the smallest value that your printer can handle.

I recommend printing with a 0.2mm layer height and always printing the flute with a raft (due to the individual segments having a super small surface area touching the build plate). Printing the flute without a raft will most probably result in adhesion issues or dimensional issues on the lowest layer (which can also cause the telescope to not extend properly).

Please note that wind instruments are notoriously tricky to 3D print and require a good and well-tuned printer to make it work. I have personally printed this flute with Bambu X1C and A1 printers, and 9 out of 10 times, I have ended up with good results - still, the materials used can largely affect how the instrument sounds, and I recommend using quality PLA filament for this. Wet and cheap filament might cause a poorly functioning instrument.
