Fabulous little pair of framed embroidered landscapes, circa 1920s-1930s. They're made in the Blackwork method done on linen, the work is beautifully done and in just one strand which is a skilled task. One piece shows a windmill, the other has houses and a church with a sweet little bridge over a stream. Likely the scenes are Norwegian, going by the architectural styles.

The embroideries are mounted into thin black wooden frames behind glass; the back is held on with nails and has 'Mommy, one strand cotton' penned on the back of each one, which is just the sweetest. The wire and pins on the back look to be original.

Each piece is in excellent condition with only a very faint feeling of age. They measure 8.5 by 6.5 inches - price is for the pair; they belong together!
