How do I work out the correct size of lampshade to order?

All lampshade size descriptions are in centimetres and inches. The diameter is the full width of the lampshade. EG 30cm x 21cm = 30cm diameter x 21cm height If you don’t have a tape measure to hand. We often suggest using any lampshades that you currently have at home. Even if it’s on the ceiling! You can pop them on your intended lamp and it will give you a better idea.

Why do I need to choose a lamp or ceiling finish/fit?

You will need to select the correct finish/fit that you require. This is to ensure that the pattern is the correct way up. For a lamp base - Lampshades that sit on a lamp base. The fitting fixture will be on the BOTTOM of the lampshade. *If you have an arc style lamp that the lampshade hangs from instead of sitting on. Then you will need a ceiling finish/fit. For the ceiling - Lampshades that hang from the ceiling. The fitting fixture will be on the TOP of the lampshade.

How long should my order take to arrive?

All orders are made and shipped out with 6 working days. All orders will be shipped via ROYAL MAIL on a TRACKED 48 service. Once Royal Mail receives a Tracked 48 parcel. They aim to deliver it within 2 to 3 working days. We ship orders Monday to Friday. Tracking only becomes available when your parcel is scanned in by Royal Mail. The first scan is done when it reaches the Edinburgh sorting centre. This is usually done very late in the evening, on the day of shipping. You should receive email updates directly from Royal Mail with an expected date for delivery and out for delivery updates. If you have included a mobile number, you can receive text messages also.

What bulb wattage should I use?

Every lampshade is shipped with a recommended bulb wattage guide. This can be found on the back of our ‘Thank You For Your Order’ flyer inside your packaging. *For 15cm lampshades, we recommend a small golf ball style (mini globe bulb) light bulb.

Why have you stopped shipping orders to Northern Ireland?

With regret, we no longer ship to Northern Ireland. This is due to the new EU GPSR regulations that have come into effect. It is untenable for us, as a small business to carry on shipping to Northern Ireland. We feel the frustration of Northern Ireland (which is the UK, but comes under EU for trade) customers being unable to purchase our products. However, in order to ship from UK to NI. The current EU GPSR regulation, requires UK businesses to have a designated agent in Northern Ireland or the EU, which is very costly. The decision to stop shipping to Northern Ireland, hasn’t been made due to extra paperwork, it’s down to excessive costs. We would not feel comfortable bumping up prices for Irish customers to cover these costs.

Do you still make tweed lampshades?

Yes we do. However, these are no longer available for purchase through Etsy. They are only available on our own website.

Do you offer different items?

The biggest diameter size lampshade that we make is a 40cm. This is due to fabric widths, our packaging and choice of courier service. Some lampshade designs are not available in a 15cm diameter. This is due to the size of the pattern. Due to us running down our stock. It is only what you see listed on Etsy.

I would like to order more but you don’t have enough stock?

Our stock is worked out by how much fabric we have readily available on a roll. We juggle numbers between our Etsy shop and our own website. www.evescott-lighting.co.uk If you require more than is showing in stock on Etsy. Please have a look at our website Eve Scott Lighting. *Please note that we are currently in the process of running down all of our stock. Once an item has sold out completely, it won't be restocked.
