Hand sculpted from polymer clay and painted with oil paints.

For almost five years on Etsy (this shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/ClayEnchanter ), a single line of description was more than enough — I just had nothing else to add 😊. But it seems that these days, it might be possible (or even necessary) to write a bit more. Since more and more people are asking such question:

Current FAQ:

💸 Customs duty in the US?
– All packages should arrive as usual, without any problems or extra payments on your side.

🖼️ About product photos and painting quality:
Considering that about ~90% of items in this category are now represented with fake images that have nothing to do with the seller’s actual painting skills — or even with reality — 3D renders taken straight from Patreon or other sites, not actual photos of physical item. I should clarify something simple, though not always obvious to buyers:
I post only real photos of my own work, physical object in its final form, no fake digital bullshit from me. Also, no fake cringe self-praise AI item\shop description, no fake friend\self-order reviews, no fake 50% sale\discount on ALL items throughout all 365 days of the year🥴.

However, taking photos is not a quick process: I need to clear my entire craftdesk, set up a large background sheet, adjust the lighting, take pictures, transfer them to my PC, and so on. So I don’t always photograph every “identical” figurine, I’m too lazy for this.🥹😇

🎨The second problem is making figures look similar.
While 90% of sellers, when they see a “black” color on the render, just spray the whole element in flat black (or if it’s skin — one flat “flesh tone” color, with no shading or gradients), I work completely differently.
It might shock some people, but I paint entire figure by hand using oil paints, with a hand brush.
I’m not even sure if anyone else on Etsy still use classical painting method without airbrush🤷‍♂️ (outside painting on canvas of course). Few times in a year I might use an airbrush for a small OSL (object source lighting) effect at the very end — that’s all. In short, "hand-painted" is interpreted very loosely by sellers, and I'm wondering if anything is sold here that isn't "painted by the hand"🤔?

Obviously, I lay thousands of individual brushstrokes and a much wider variety of colors. For example, when it comes to black, I almost never use pure “black” paint (except for the base, pupils, or eyelashes). Instead, I mix very dark shades of blues and browns.
The same goes for skin tones — I use a variety of colors and shades instead of the premixed “skin tone name” paint from the bottle that most people (on Etsy) use to cover the entire figure uniformly 🤯.

Even with that, many “professional” sellers warn that there might be small “imperfections,” and that your screen might distort the colors 🥴.
Well… in my case, I GUARANTEE that differences between figures will always exist — and the monitor has nothing to do with it, I can't put same color strokes on same places on every figure. I’d even be more honest and call them not “imperfections,” but “uglinesses” 😅 (because perfection is far away from me to reach it).

Still, compared to those selling other people’s 3D renders, my figures are at least 90% true to the sample, while real figure vs renders... well ... 🙈.

🛠️ About the work process
Given all that, and the fact that I’m a somewhat honest seller (I'm like “Khajiit merchants” from Elder Scrolls — just less fluffy 😸, I'm honest in my cunningness), and almost a hobbyist artist (this is important! Thanks Apollo I'm not an “Etsy professional,” and proud of it 😏), I’ll try to follow this plan:

I’ll keep more difficult figure as a reference, so I can make the copy look as close as possible. If it turns out significantly different, I’ll send you photos of the finished piece before shipping, and cancel\refund the order If you think it too ugly🤮.
If a listing says “Made to order,” it doesn’t mean I don’t have the figure from the photos — it might just be needed as my reference piece in front of me. Sometimes I can ship such orders within a few days, but by default, expect up to about a two months for me to make a copy or ship the specific figure from the photos.
A delay longer than two months is unlikely, but possible — for example, due to enemy attacks on civilian infrastructure (in that case, I promise to message you… assuming there’s electricity 🌚).

🧙 Custom figure commissions
I can make any figure you see on Etsy (including miniatures) — just send me a link or picture, and I’ll tell you the price.

At the moment, I’ve stopped creating completely original characters. As for characters from well-known universes, I don’t really take “orders” — it’s more like “suggestions.” If you’d like to see any famous characters in my (amateur 😊) style, just message me. If it aligns with my wishlist, I’ll give that figure top priority and make it faster than I would without your request.

That’s about it for now — maybe I’ll write more in another five years ☺️. Or if nobody buys anything, I’ll just ask Chat GPT to write me a “professional fake description.” Honestly, I’m not even sure anyone reads these 😅.
If anyone's reading, check this out - I asked to have my description rewritten to be more "salesy and cringy" using the "choose life" monologue from the beginning of Trainspotting as a template🙈🙉🙊:
Choose mass production.
Choose smooth 3D renders and copy-paste perfection.
Choose one-button airbrush paint jobs and “skin tone” straight from the bottle.
Choose fast, cheap, and empty.

Or don’t.

Choose real.
Choose oil paints, real brushes, and thousands of tiny strokes.
Choose colors that shift in light, shadows that breathe, and textures that exist beyond the screen.
Choose a piece that no printer or AI could ever fake.

Each figure I paint is 100% handmade — one by one, with oil paints, no shortcuts.
No two are ever identical. No filters, no fake previews — only real photos of real work.

Choose imperfection.
Choose uniqueness.
Choose something that still has a human heartbeat.

Custom Hand-Painted Figure — for collectors who want something honest, something alive.
Choose art.
🙈🙉🙊

Ha-ha, it seems I have some "professional" potential after all.😅
«Now, I've justified this to myself in all sorts of ways. It wasn't a big deal, just a minor betrayal. Or we'd outgrown each other, you know, that sort of thing. So why did I do it? I could offer a million answers - all false. The truth is that I'm a bad person. But, that's gonna change - I'm going to change. This is the last of that sort of thing. Now I'm cleaning up and I'm moving on, going straight and choosing life. I'm looking forward to it already. I'm gonna be just like you. The job, the family, the f*cking big television, the washing machine, the car, the compact disc and electric tin opener, good health, low cholesterol, dental insurance, mortgage, starter home, leisure wear, luggage, three piece suite, DIY, game shows, junk food, children, walks in the park, nine to five, good at golf, washing the car, choice of sweaters, family Christmas, indexed pension, tax exemption, clearing gutters, getting by, looking ahead, the day you die.»
