Highlights
We were fortunate to obtain some beautiful traditional African art that came from Rwanda and which was purchased by a member of the Canadian Armed Forces who was deployed there early in the 1990s. He has had them in his possession for the last 30 years.
We have two beautiful hand carved tribal chairs which are incredible works of art. They are made of two thick solid pieces of wood, both of which are intricately carved. The pieces fit together in a slot - the seating surface at its highest is 13" angling down to the back rest - it is surprisingly incredibly comfortable. The chairs are approximately 31" high. Apparently these chairs would be taken by the Rwandans when visiting other members of their family - they come apart easily and the "planks" can easily be carried.
Each chair is signed by the maker.
The chairs are similar in design and size but the carvings are different as each was uniquely hand carved. The price is for one chair only.

This is not only a sturdy chair but a piece of wonderful African art that can be displayed.
Carving 1 is the chair with the light coloured seat (flowers) - could be stained dark if desired.
Carving 2 is the chair with the leaf/fruit design on the seat
