This lovely athame is made from an upcycled vintage chrome plated cutlery blade and has a handle of a piece of Cornish Wild Cherry Wood I found while visiting.
The athame measures about 9 inches long from end to end. The wood of the handle has had a coat of home made beeswax polish and a spiral pyrographed into the end.
Cherry, which grows wild as well as being cultivated for fruit is often associated with beauty and passion.
Athame's are ritual tools, not intended to be used to cut objects with.
Breathing new life into old and often unloved items is part of my sacred work - using and reusing old cutlery blades like this to make beautiful magical tools fills me with joy, and does a little to keep somethings out of land-fill sites.
Please read all shipping information and policies below before making your purchase. Buy committing to buy this gorgeous item, you are also committing to my shop policies (sorry they're so long!)
1) Standard shipping to the USA, Canda and some EU countries and Australia DOES NOT include tracking since these destinations seem to have relatively secure mail systems - For these destinations once your order has been been posted we will have no way of knowing where it is until it arrives to you there is NO tracking number. International shipping times vary significantly depending on weather and time of year and adding tracking at checkout will let you know when your order will arrive - I highly recommend it, it is extra - select it from the menu at checkout - it's there for all listings, if you forget, contact me asap.
I offer generous postal discounts for multiple purchases made in one transaction - the discount will be applied automatically at checkout by etsy.
For all other international destinations - no need to add that at check-out. Your numbers will be added manually with 48 hours of the item being mailed.
In the UK, standard shipping is by first class signed for unless otherwise stated, and you are able to upgrade at checkout to special delivery if you choose.
Should your order go missing in the post (which happens very rarely), the loss is now covered by Etsy's buyer protection program.
2: Etsy needs me to let you know that no guarantees can be made as to the magical properties, associations or effect of any of the work that I see- they are sold as curios only :).
3: Since 2018 all my packaging is either recycled or plastic free, and able to be recycled as paper - including the tape. If your parcel included bubble-wrap, it's because I've received it from one of my suppliers and want to reuse it rather than toss it in the trash, it would be wonderful if you were also able to reuse any or all of the packing materials. Sometimes re-used envelopes are less attractive - but I feel using scruffy envelopes are better than not reusing them and hope you agree!
