Highlights
A fine piece of Copeland Spode Italian Blue to add to a collection. The Sandwich plate is 10.5 inches in diameter, it is divided into four sections, I assume for placing neat triangular sandwiches for serving purposes.
This plate was produced as a Promotional Gift for Skipper Sardines 1937 Send in 10 coupons and low and behold The Plate was dispatched.
An era gone when people huddled together in someone's lounge, summoned by the note popped through the door. Drinks & Nibbles. One meagre glass of wine, option orange juice and the inevitable cucumber and smoke salmon sandwiches were passed around followed by the pineapple and cheese on a stick not to forget the mini-wee-sausages. In at 6.00 o'clock thrown out at 7 o'clock.
Collectible: Very good condition, no scratches, chips or repair early 1900's.
