Celebrate Christmas with a modern take on traditional felt stockings. All of my impeccably appliqued designs are sure to make your holidays more special year after year. This festive and intricate Snowflakes Stocking - like all of my stockings - measures 8" wide by 18" from opening to big toe for generous gift giving. Share a new heirloom to commemorate a love of skating this Christmas!

65% wool and 35% acrylic combine to deliver the best stocking fabric. Wool brings a thick, sumptuous look and feel and resists pilling while the acrylic keeps the stocking from stretching under the weight of your presents (oh, I see you've been very good!).

About the process: Each design is drawn in reverse on the base layer of felt. The felt layers are sewn one color at a time before being cut away by hand to reveal the image. I learned this very unique technique at a women's cooperative while living in Hungary. This reverse applique technique was originally used to decorate shepherd cloaks in the 1600's.

The piece-work is impeccable on these stockings. The appliques are beautifully done and playful. The felt is sturdy wool felt like can be found at fabric stores. I had been looking for thick "felted wool" crafted in the process called wet-felting which this felt is not, but, these are so cute they are a good substitute. I appreciated that the seller was willing to make a change to her design at my request. Thank you, Jen!
