This is partly because they have no makers marks and are an unsearchable rarity as a result.
However, they're made from superior quality acetate and have real glass lenses which we're quick to remind, is an entirely specialist product in todays market that's exponentially more expensive than plastics in exactly the same way as laminate vs wooden flooring/worktops etc. They even have an original tag in German indicating there is uv filtration ( a full 20 years before this became a standard ). In other words they are of similar or better quality as household name brands which would be twice this price.
