I suggest measuring favorite coat that fits you well for length and pit to pit measurements in inches.

Cleaning For Vintage Quilted Coats/Jackets:
This quilt was washed prior to construction of the coat - in the washing machine, cold water, on delicate cycle then placed in the dryer on delicate cycle as well.

These coat/jackets are meant to be WORN. If your jacket does need cleaning, spot clean or wash on the gentle cycle with cold water and lay flat to dry. I like to use “Retro Wash” to clean my quilted coats, I don’t suggest working hard to remove the very old stains that come with some of the very old quilts, rather embrace its history. (I always wash “dirty” quilts prior to sewing and have sadly needed to discard some that didn’t make it after the wash☹)

Regular detergents, dry cleaning chemicals, and a strong machine cycle will tear apart the vintage fabrics. If the quilt contains the old batting, you will also see bunching of the batting into individual clumps.
