This vintage empty glass jar is incredibly useful as well as being beautiful. Bottles like this are great for storing bath salts, powders, detergents, or any number of items in the bath, laundry, or elsewhere. This empty jar came from a lot of chemistry laboratory glass and the glass is probably from the 1900 to 1920 period. This one is embossed "SODIUM HYDROXIDE" and the bottom is embossed "Wheaton No - Sol - Vit 1 U.S.A." so this was made by Wheaton in New Jersey. The stopper may not be original to the bottle, and I suspect the stopper is even older, and the stopper is in good condition, as is the bottle. The glass is the old wavy glass, and this bottle was molded, and the opening is slightly tapered and frosted on the inside. The jar itself with the stopper inserted measures about 6 1/2" high and the bottom is about 2 1/2" in diameter. The inside diameter of the opening is about 3/4". No cracks, no hairlines, no chips, no fleabites. It weighs about 9 ounces. In good condition.
