Materials: pottery

This antique French faience candle stick was likely made in Rouen France. The bright colours of the hand painting include yellow, red-orange, blue, green and black. It would add some real interest combined with other candle sticks to make a collection.

DIMENSIONS: 9 1/2" tall x 5 inches wide at base

CONDITION: Very good for it's age - only 2 small surface chips to the paint around the rim of the candlestick.

MARKINGS: Signed but see picture as I can't interpret it.

I wouldn't recommend putting vintage glass or china in the dishwasher especially if they have metal decorations, hand painted details or other embellishments. Dishwasher detergent is very tough on vintage glass. As vintage glass was often made in a time before dishwashers were prevalent, they would most likely be damaged. Hand washing is recommended.
