Encaustic works have wonderful texture as well as a faint, sweet scent . I heat high quality refined beeswax medium made with damar resin and layer it on wood, canvas, or glass. Each layer must be fused together and I do this with a heat gun. I use oil pastels to add color and depth. Creating texture is done by using various tools, brushes and glaze.
