The festive improv combination of African wax print fabrics makes this lively quilt both cheerful and energizing to the eye. The more you look, the more you will see! The simple geometry of combining triangles, squares and rectangles fills the quilt with color surprises. This one of a kind quilt will look wonderful on the wall with a variety of decor or on a crib or nursery wall.

After assembling the 28”x33” quilt with cotton batting and a black print backing, I used free motion quilting in a meandering line that adds a playful touch to the composition. The quilting thread is variegated from black to white and notice how the white portions of the line play out in the black elements of the quilt—especially the border. There is an unobtrusive sleeve on the back of the quilt for inserting the wooden slat or quarter round molding that allows you to hang the quilt. (Rod or quarter round not included.)

Use this lovely quilt for the baby now and hang it later. A keepsake.
