This DIY table saw & miter saw workbench plan (Imperial) shows you how to build a durable mobile woodworking workbench designed to house both tools in one compact footprint, perfect for small to medium workshops. The design creates a large flat work surface while allowing the miter saw shelf to rotate out of the way when not in use, creating an efficient workstation for cutting, assembly, and material handling.

What’s Included
This workbench system is organized into three documents, each with a specific purpose.
1. Main Workbench Plans
The primary build document.
Includes:

• Complete step-by-step build instructions

• Structural assembly sequence

• Cut list and supply list

• Hardware references and diagrams
All measurements are based on standard North American 2×4 lumber
(actual size 1½″ × 3½″).

2. Modification Guide
Use this guide if your tools differ from the original layout.
Learn how to:

• Measure your miter saw and table saw

• Adjust the rotating miter saw shelf
• Modify the table saw opening

• Follow a beginner-friendly build option
The examples use a Bosch GCM12SD miter saw, but the same methods apply to other saws.

3. Lumber Variation Guide
Use this guide only if building with alternate lumber sizes.
Includes full diagrams and adjusted measurements for:
• Planed 2×4 lumber
Final size: 1⅜″ × 3⅜″
• True-size dimensional lumber
Final size: 1 13⁄16″ × 3 5⁄8″
When using alternate lumber sizes, the Lumber Variation Guide provides all measurements, while the Main Workbench Plans provide the assembly sequence.

Tools Required
• Table saw

• Miter saw

• Router

• Circular saw

• Jig saw or hand saw

• Drill

Build Tips
Circular Saw
For accurate cuts, use a straight guide with your circular saw. A level or straight board works well, simply clamp it to the workpiece and run the saw along the guide.

30° Cut on Page 60
A plunge saw and guide make this cut easier, but it can also be completed with a 30° chamfer router bit and router, which is described in the plans.

Drilling the Rotating Shelf
Two holes must be drilled accurately for the rotating shelf mechanism. A drill press works well, but a hand drill is perfectly acceptable. The key is keeping the drill close to 90° while drilling.

General Tip
Accurate 90° cuts on the legs will make the entire build easier. Small errors can often be corrected with shims, but starting with square cuts will save time later in the build.
An engineer’s square is an inexpensive tool that quickly becomes one of the most useful tools in the shop.
