•Sunlight: Full sun to full shade.
•Soil: Wet soil or dry, clay or sand.
•Watering: Keep constantly moist. Watering the plants just before substrate becomes dry.
•Fertilizing: Chocolate Chip Ajuga is a fast growing plant and may deplete the nutrients in its soil over time. Replenish them with a gentle organic fertilizer or compost every 1-2 months depending on your location and season. Fertilize more often during the growing season and in warmer and brighter climates.
•Pruning: Pruning is not required but can be done to rejuvenate foliage after flowering. Larger plantings may be mowed if they become unruly.
•Spacing: 6" spacing of 32 landscape plugs covers 6 sq feet; 8" spacing covers 7.5 sq feet; 10" spacing covers 11 sq feet; 12" spacing covers 16 sq feet.
•Uses: While ajuga is edible, it is primarily used as an herbal tea medicinal remedy and tastes bitter and somewhat dandelion-like in salads. Great for beneath trees and shrubs where little else can grow. Perfect in between pavers and loves to be walked on!
