North America is known as Turtle Island among First Nations people and since I live in a community with so many First Nations people, I thought it would be important to have several different pairs of turtle earrings in my shop! These are the largest turtles I have - they're not huge, by any means, but they may be a little too heavy for children. They're 34 mm or 1.3 inches long, by 20 mm or .8 of an inch wide. The nickel-free antique silvertone zinc alloy charms are hung on nickel-free hypoallergenic silver coated stainless steel ear wires (hooks) and they come with rubber ear nuts (stoppers) to keep them in place.

If you have serious allergies, I do have grey uncoated stainless steel wires available at no extra charge - please send me a note with your purchase so I know to switch them out.

They come carefully wrapped in pretty tissue paper and equally pretty gift bags, and are mailed ASAP through Canada Post. If your order is a gift, I can include a message to let the recipient know who it's from - just leave your information in the "Notes to Seller" section while checking out. If your gift is for a birthday, or Christmas, please let me know and I can wrap them for the occasion!

SHIPPING NEWS: I live in northeastern Alberta, so please allow plenty of time for shipping. I usually say 10-12 business days to eastern Canada and the far north, 8-10 business days to BC, 3-4 business days to the Edmonton area, and 5-7 business days to Calgary and further south. To help, I usually mail orders within 24 hours, unless you order on a weekend - then I have to wait until Monday. Orders to the U.S.A. pay for tracking. Orders to Canada do not have tracking with free delivery - however, Canadians do have an option to pay for it if they so desire. (Click on the drop-down shipping menu in your basket.) CARE TIP: I buy the best ear wires (hooks) I can get my hands on but they're costume jewellery, not real gold. With constant wear they will tarnish because of hair products, oil from the skin and sunlight. The rubber ear nuts will also hasten the tarnishing process: don't store your earrings with your nuts attached (!), and keep all your jewellery in a closed drawer out of the light. It's also a good idea to wash them with warm soapy water, and rinse with clean water, every once in a while - especially after heavy wear. Also, never wear your costume jewellery overnight, and it's a good idea to clean your ear lobes with rubbing alcohol or peroxide. If they get sore, don't wear any earrings for a while, and apply a bit of Polysporin or some other kind of antibiotic salve. Also, if you have newly pierced years, only wear real gold studs for 12 months. At least! When your earrings get tarnished, I recommend purchasing a silver polishing cloth - there are several inexpensive brands on the market.
