Can I see a piece on video before I buy?

Yes, and we'd love to. Message us here on Etsy and we'll set up a live video call at a time that suits you. If the piece is in our Jaipur boutique we'll show it to you in daylight — the real colour, the weight of the fabric, the handwork up close. If it's made to order, we'll talk you through the fabric, colour and work before anything is cut.

Do you take custom orders?

Yes — colour, size, length and work can usually be customised. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll tell you honestly what's possible, how long it will take and what it will cost. For bigger custom pieces we're happy to talk it through on a video call first.

Do you offer stitching?

Yes. Blouses, kurtas and lehengas can be stitched to your measurements for a small extra charge. Sarees come with fall and pico edging done free. Message us your measurements (bust, waist, hip, shoulder and length) and we'll confirm the price and timing before we begin.

Can I get this in a different colour?

Almost always, yes — we are not limited to the colours in the photos. Choose "Other colour (call)" in the options when you order, or message us first, and we'll match the shade with you on a short video call before work begins. Because everything is handmade, a piece made for you will be very close to the one in the photos but never an exact copy — that is the nature of handwork.

Will I have to pay import duty or customs charges?

Orders shipping outside India may be charged import duty, customs fees or VAT by your own country when the parcel arrives — these are set by your government and are not included in our price. For US orders, we'll message you the estimated duty and carrier fee before we ship, and we ship only once you've agreed. If you'd like an estimate for your country before ordering, just message us.

Our flagship barbie-pink gajji dupatta. Bandhani tied in white, then lit up with zero-size gota patti, sequins and zardozi.

Gajji silk is a dense satin-weave silk with a deep natural lustre. It is the traditional cloth for bandhani in Rajasthan and Gujarat because it takes colour richly and the knotted dots stand out crisply against the shine.

Bandhani (bandhej) is tie-dye done entirely by hand. Thousands of tiny points of cloth are pinched up and bound with thread, one at a time, before the fabric ever touches dye. When the threads are opened, each knot leaves a small undyed dot, and the dots together make the pattern. No two pieces knot the same way.

Gota patti is Rajasthan's own handwork: small pieces of metallic ribbon are cut into leaves, petals and borders and hand-stitched onto the cloth. Zardozi — from the Persian zar (gold) and dozi (embroidery) — is raised metallic embroidery worked by hand with fine wire, dabka and sequins.

Over a plain kurta set in a solid colour, so the handwork has room to breathe. As a wedding or festive drape over a simple saree. Across one shoulder with a lehenga, or pinned as a bridal veil.

Dry clean only. Never machine wash, soak or wring. Store folded in muslin or a cotton bag, away from damp and direct sunlight — metallic zari and gota keep their shine longest when they stay dry. Refold along different lines every few months so creases don't set.
