What's the difference between matte and satin paper?

Satin paper offers a gentle sheen, somewhere between matte and glossy, that gives the artwork a slight shine. This finish enhances the vibrancy and depth of colors, making them pop without being overly reflective. It’s a great choice if you want your prints to stand out with a bit more brightness and contrast. Matte paper has a flat, non-glossy finish that gives prints a smooth and elegant look. It’s great for reducing reflections and glare, which makes it easier to see details from any angle. The colors on matte paper tend to appear softer and more muted.

What is the paper weight used for the prints?

GSM stands for "grams per square meter" and it’s a measurement of the paper's weight and thickness. The higher the GSM number, the heavier and thicker the paper will be. For example, standard printer paper is usually around 80-100 GSM, while high-quality art prints use paper in the range of 200-300 GSM or higher. Satin paper is often heavier than matte because it typically has a coating that gives it its signature slight shine. This coating adds to the paper's overall weight and thickness For our prints we use: Satin Prints 4x6, 7x5, A4, A3, A3+ - 280 GSM 6x8, 8x10 and 8x12 - 250 GSM A5 - 300 GSM Matte Prints 7x5 - 10X8 - A4 - 220 GSM A3 and 13x16 - 240 GSM

Where can I find frames for your prints?

The frames shown in my display examples are often baroque or ornamental styles. You can search online for "baroque frame" or "ornamental frame" to find similar options. For customers in the USA, finding frames for A4 or A3 prints is easy, but make sure to search online specifically for "A4 frame" or "A3 frame" instead of using the measurements. This approach will help you find suitable and affordable options more efficiently.

In "Between the Church and the Moon", the light is all one colour and every bit of it comes from behind her. The moon fills half the sky in burnt orange, her wings are cut through with lace and scrollwork so the glow passes straight through them, and her gown falls in layer after layer of black lace scattered with small copper butterflies. A church spire and bare trees drop away into the dark below her. Her head is bowed and her face is turned away. There is real autumn in this one, the kind that arrives in late October rather than September.

Printed on high-quality archival fine art paper and available in matte or satin finish. The matte finish gives a softer, more muted look with reduced glare, while the satin finish adds gentle sheen and slightly richer colours, allowing details and highlights to stand out more clearly. Frame not included.

For Giclee prints up to A4 size we ship them flat unless they are ordered alongside a larger print. For larger sizes we carefully roll and package them in a protective tube for safe delivery. Please note that frames are not included.

Every print is created, checked and packaged by me in my Liverpool studio. Each order is prepared with close attention to detail so your artwork arrives safely and beautifully presented. All parcels are shipped using tracked services for reliable delivery from England to your home.

I create and develop my artwork using digital painting and compositing techniques with a graphics tablet and professional design software. My creative process also incorporates digital tools such as custom brushes and AI-assisted tools, with each piece manually refined and finished by me to achieve the final artwork.
