HOW CAN I CHARGE THE GLOW IN THE DARK ART?

Stella Murals' products glow 12+ hours, all night. Well lit space = Bright glow. Glow in the dark stars can be charged with sunlight/daylight, bright room lights or LED UV lights. For a natural easy charge use daylight and then a bright room light to top up the glow at bedtime. Bright room lights that work are LEDs, Fluorescent lights. Incandescent or Halogen bulbs do not work. Most rooms have perfect lighting conditions and the stars will glow all night without extra help. If you want to charge the stars quickly and to their maximum amount for colour and glow use LED UV lights. 395 nm, 30 - 100 watt UV flood lights or bars will fully charge a large star ceiling in minutes. UV lights will make all the colours pop!

WHAT GLOW COLOURS DO YOU USE?

I mostly use the brighter, longer glowing and easiest to charge colours, aqua, green and blue. Lately I’ve added extra colours in the star stickers packs. Glow colour can only be seen when fully charged. About 10 minutes after a full charge, you'll see a whitish after-glow colour that lasts all night. This is normal for all glow in the dark paints. When using daylight and a top up from a room light at night, while it is enough to get the stars glowing all night, it may not be a maximum enough charge to see the colours. To fully charge the stars for maximum colour and glow, use a LED UV flood light or bar. (395nm, 30 - 100 watts will charge a large star ceiling in minutes.) The daytime colour of the paints is an off-white yellow.

HOW CAN I INSTALL THE PRODUCTS?

Every item comes with adhesives/attachments. WHITE DECALS - Removable/reusable, peel and stick, for use on smooth white surfaces, damage free, untrimmed. - Permanent extreme high tack version also available. CLEAR DECALS - Removable, for use on smooth surfaces, all coloured surfaces, peel and stick, medium tack, trimmed. Will not adhere to anti-scuff/stain resistant paint surfaces, use spray adhesive if needed or select the high tack version. Contact me if there is a problem with your paint. WHAT BACKGROUND COLOUR IS BEST?

White or light coloured backgrounds are best for glow in the dark. Dark blue walls are popular and the star stickers can be incorporated into existing murals. White reflects the light, it helps with charging and to reflect the glow. The star stickers are a whitish yellowish daytime colour. They blend best on white backgrounds although they can be used and glow well on any coloured or dark backgrounds. On darker surfaces they'll be seen as tiny dots during the day. Team them up with clear vinyl decals for the best result. If you're painting your wall or ceiling, anti scuff/stain resistant paints are not designed to let vinyl adhesives stick well. You may need to use a higher tack spray adhesive for use on these painted surfaces.

ARE GLOW IN THE DARK PRODUCTS SAFE?

Decals and stickers are non-toxic and acrylic based. But these are not toys or good for midnight snacks! Stars stickers are not suitable for children under 3 years only because they could be a choking risk. Do not allow small children to play with the stickers, place them securely out of reach. Do not place canopies over ceiling lights or near flame. If in doubt about your type of wall or ceiling paint use extra adhesive and do not place directly above a child's bed.

CAN I USE THE STARS IN A DARK HOME THEATRE OR BASEMENT ROOM?

If you have a home theatre/dark room/basement/down or recessed lights you will need to make sure the stars are placed in bright direct light to charge them. LED UV lights are best used in these rooms to get the stars to glow at their brightest. Use bright 30 - 100 watt UV flood lights or bars at 395nm.
