How do you apply medium and chunky glitter blends?

Start with dip base or gel. With the base still wet, pour the dip powder over your finger. It is helpful to use a cupcake liner to keep the excess glitter contained. Press the glitter gently into the nail to flatten it out. For your second layer, start with dip base or gel and this time lay your finger on top of the glitter to pick up bigger pieces of glitter. Press the glitter into the nail and encapsulate with clear dip powder or gel. If you want to add individual pieces of glitter, place a small dab of base on your nail and place the individual piece of glitter where you'd like.

Can I use the gel method?

Yes! Please keep in mind that certain gel brands may alter the color of the dip powder in the final result. If this happens, try using a different gel brand, or use the dip powder method.

Can I use these dip powders with monomer?

You sure can! Keep in mind that the texture of dip powder is different than acrylic, so the working time may vary.

The number of manis will depend on how many layers of dip you apply. Our swatches show each color with 2 layers of dip. Some chunky glitter blends may only need 1 layer for desired effect.

Tips for working with chunky glitter:
- Apply a clear layer of dip powder over glitter dip to help protect the design during the shaping and buffing phase.

- When working with large glitters such as the maple leaf glitter, apply a small amount of base liquid and applying the glitter by hand in the desired area.

- It it recommended to shake the dip powder before use in order to mix any glitters that have settled at the bottom.
