Alphabet Learning Game A-Z: Search & Sort Activity with Buttons and Glass Gems for Preschool and Elementary School (Download, English)

This learning material is an independent and hands-on exercise for visual perception of letters and the alphabet (uppercase and lowercase), eye-hand coordination, and fine motor skills development.

The templates are available in two versions:

Letters with animal pictures corresponding to the respective German initial sounds (German)
Letters with animal pictures corresponding to the respective English initial sounds (English)

The layout pictures are independent of any textbook and can be used with any reading course in elementary school and for playful and exploratory learning of letters in preschool.

Target Group:
Preschool, kindergarten, elementary school, special education, homeschooling, learning support, educational games, at home

Task:
Students search for the specified letter in the grid and place a glass gem (glass nugget, buttons, or similar material) on the field. The magnifying effect of the glass gems further highlights the letter. Each letter/sound is complemented by a matching initial sound image.

Self-Check:
Once all letters are found, the respective letters can be seen for self-checking.

Applications:
The material is suitable for free work or stations for the respective letters during initial instruction or for playful learning at home. Alternatively, children can mark the letters with a transparency pen. It also works great as a prepared learning tray.

Objectives:

Visual Perception:
Students develop the ability to identify and recognize letters in a visual pattern.

Eye-Hand Coordination:
By placing the glass gems on the corresponding circles, students develop their fine motor skills and improve their hand-eye coordination.

Fine Motor Skills:
Grasping and placing the glass gems requires precise finger dexterity and strengthens students' fine motor skills.

Alphabet Awareness:
The exercises support students in recognizing individual letters and associating them with their sounds, fostering understanding of the structure and organization of language.

Self-Check:
After finding all the letters, students can check their work by viewing the assembled letters. This promotes self-directed learning and self-checking skills.

Preparation:
The colored copy templates can be laminated for multiple uses or placed in a sheet protector. The printer-friendly or black-and-white version can be glued onto colored copy paper or cardstock.

Note:
Smaller glass gems between 10 and 12 mm are best suited.
