Vintage sizing can be very unique and different to modern sizes, so all garments are measured flat in inches, and may need to be doubled where appropriate (for example, the waist measures 16" flat so will fit around a 30/31" waist) Always leave wiggle room to be safe. Where I can, I will also put a 'size suggestion' such as "fit's a modern UK 8-10" so hopefully this can give you a better idea of the garments size! Our mannequin is a UK 10/12. Please check measurements carefully so that you're buying the correct size and as always, if you have any questions, do reach out and we're more than happy to advise you as best as we can!

What is the condition of the clothes?

Each item will have an individual description of the garment and the condition. Most of our items are used to some degree, as they've lived fabulous lives before they came to us! Some of our items are very special, old and handmade, so where the item is slightly more worn, loved and perhaps has the odd mark to show it's had a lovely life, please do take this into consideration. Major flaws/marks will be mentioned. And a big thank you for shopping second hand! ❤️

With most pieces post 1970, they will normally have a laundry label on to help you know how to care for your treasure best, but I normally always suggest hand washing with a gentle, delicates detergent to make sure you can prolong the life of the item, as well as lowering the risk of colours bleeding. This is how we launder most of our treasure before it makes it's way to you! With more modern clothes and less delicate material, you could gentle machine wash and follow the label care instructions. Each piece and material of the garment will differ on how it wants to be cared for best, such as steaming, dry cleaning, etc.

I'm buying for someone else - can you gift wrap?

All of our items are packaged in lightly scented tissue paper and sealed with our Aurora Effie Vintage brand sticker. They're carefully packaged in pink mailing bags (we encourage you to re use these & the tissue paper where possible, to minimise waste and encouraging a re-use mindset!) All orders also come packaged with vintage style stickers and a handwritten vintage style post card, thanking you for your order. If you wish for this to be addressed to someone other than the purchaser (such as a gift for someone) do let us know upon purchase and if you'd like a special message adding, and we will do our best to include these!

Absolutely OBSESSED with this dreamy, pink bomber jacket with gorgeous shoulder detailing - such a fun, versatile piece and the colour is beautiful!

Size: Labelled Vintage UK 18, I would say that this would best suit a modern UK 8-14, possibly 16, depending on the desired fit. Please do check measurements below for a correct fit, our mannequin is a UK 10-12.
