Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother Mary would look lovely on your Alter, she is a beautiful Religious Icon, adored by many, I painted her with love as she kept appearing to me, letting me know, she wanted to be painted. As I brought her to life on the canvas I added her story to the back of this plaque.
The original Lady of Guadalupe was painted in oils on canvas by me, Lori Felix. This is an embellished print collaged on to a wooden plaque I design, laser cut then hand painted and varnished, ready to hang. Signed on the back. i also offer a larger plaque 11" x 7.5" upon request.
It reads,The story reads:
She appeared to Juan Diago in Mexico City and asked that a Church be built at that site.Juan Diego recognized the lady as the virgin Mary and asked the Lady for a miraculous sign to prove her identity.
The Virgin told Juan Diego to gather flowers from the top of Tepeyac hill. December was very late in the season for flowers to bloom,Juan Diego found at the usual barren hilltop Castilian Roses not native to Mexico, which the Virgin arranged in his peasant tilma cloak. When Juan Diego opened the cloak before Bishop Zumarraga, the flowers fell to the floor, and in their place was the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, miraculously imprinted on the fabric.
