An irreverent project I’ve always wanted to tackle:
My personal more budget-friendly
modern version of the vintage 60’s-70’s Je Dol sunglasses!
Each circular side of these frames measure approximately 3”x3” - 6.25” across.
The metal chain* that rests behind the ears is strong and sturdy for stability.
Link chains and end beads may be vintage and differ slightly from pair-to-pair as supplies vary. Vintage chains may have patina.
The fobs are from true vintage genuine bakelite disks from the 1940’s at latest.
Marbeling and translucency/opaqueness of the bakelite will vary—No two are alike!
End beads, depending on color and availability, will be either true vintage plastic or weightier new Czech glass. Please specify in the ‘Personalization’ section or message me if you have a preference, and I will do my best to accommodate you.
Please bear in mind these are NOVELTY KITSCH sunglasses: With chains instead of arms, may not feel/fit the same way as regular full frames that you’re accustomed to.
*The heavier chains that I have sourced, along with the additional end beads that I put on the ends of these novelty sunglasses, provide a more stable fit on the face than the vintage original Je Dols that inspired my design.
(The originals have a lighter weight chain and no end beads).

These are so cool, the only issue is they don't quite sit upright and droop downwards, but I feel like if I buy and glue on a bridge it will be a better solution, and it's probably because of my nose.

My heavier chains, along with the additional end beads on these, do provide a more stable fit on the face than the vintage originals that inspired my design. (The originals have a lighter weight chain and no end beads). But I will also start including a pair of silicone padding for the nose bridge, thanks to your feedback!
