A decidedly unique DIY valentine! Nothing says "Be mine" like the gift of the stars!

A starfinder (also known as a "planisphere" or "star chart") is a map of a portion of the celestial sphere with an attached rotating device for indicating the location of stars and constellations at any given date and time. Starfinders are often somewhat plain in appearance. As a crafter and aspiring astronomer, I set out to create a more attractive device.

This digital kit (comprised of three pages in PDF format for ease of use) includes a template for a special Valentine version of my Mini Cutesy starfinder -- 5" in diameter, and the viewing instructions attach to the back to make it fully giftable. I suggest printing on a good, sturdy cardstock.

Please note that this starfinder was designed for those living in the northern hemisphere only. It will not accurately depict the sky as viewed from any point south of the equator.
