Sleek and elegant ewer-style stoneware vase designed by Carl-Harry Stålhane for Rörstrand Studio in the 1950's.
The vase features a gorgeous polychrome hares fur glaze in a variety of shades ranging from dark rusty brown to steely gray with whispers of cream around the rim. There's a handle on one side where the slender neck joins with the rounded body.
This is one of Stålhane's "alphabet vases" and this model is named "CAF". Signed underneath with "CHS" and "R-Sweden".
This is a stunning first quality piece with no flaws or damages, only the lightest of wear can be detected. Faint residue to the interior.
The vase exudes understated beauty and timeless appeal, and is sure to bring delight to any home.
Carl Harry Stålhane (1920-1990) was one of the most important ceramic artists and designers in Sweden during the 20th century. He worked for Rörstrand from 1939 to 1973 and for Designhuset between 1973 until his death in 1990.
Stålhane was an innovator within ceramic art; he was indeed both trendy and versatile. Carl-Harry Stålhane’s production ranges from elegant studio pieces to mass produced ashtrays and pots, as well as unique, hand-built sculptures.
