Pair original silver & enamel Art Nouveau Norene safety Hat pins pair of hat pin on original card

Great pair of high Art Nouveau matched silver front and enamel hat pins very much in the manner of Liberty or Charles Horner. The "Norene safety patent" was a pair of hat pins with hinged ends and mesh backs to the caps. The primary reason for the mesh is that the hatpins were used either side of the hat and the pin pushed into the mesh back of the other. They are actually hinged at opposite ends of the pattern on the front so they can be upright both sides of the hat and positioned to enter the mesh back of the sister pin on the other side of the hat. Also billed as the mesh compartment additionally being capable of holding perfume. They are unused on their original card and measure for the card, 12" long by 2" wide. The heads of the hatpins measure 1 3/8". The enamel is a little rough around the interior edges on one as shown but I believe this to be how they were originally let go from the factory.
