Croton mammy offers attractive colorful leaves that twist and turn into eye-catching shapes. The leaves are shiny and evergreen, giving you color through the year. In Autumn it has tiny yellow and white flowers. Croton Mammy grows naturally in open forests and is native to Australia and the Western Pacific Islands.

Growing conditions:
- lighting: the place for Croton must be chosen on the sunny side, it loves bright light, otherwise the leaves will lose their multi-colored coloration. But still don’t forget to protect the plant from direct sunlight.

- watering: from spring to fall, during the active growing season, the soil in the pot should be moist, but don’t overwater the plant as the roots can start rotting, as well as dry soil can cause losing the foliage. During the cold season the watering is reduced. Use only settled water of room temperature.

- fertilizing: throughout the year, Croton should be fed with mineral and organic fertilizers (from spring to fall – once a week, in winter – once a month).

- nuances: the plant requires high humidity, at least 70-80%. Croton should be sprayed with soft, settled water regularly, if possible every day, and wiped with a damp cloth; a warm shower can be also useful for the plant once a month. In summer, a temperature is needed be within the following range 68 or 72°C, up to 81°C, in winter it is between 59 and 63°C. At a higher temperature, the plant stretches and becomes less decorative. Croton Sunny Star is repotted once in a few years or when the old pot becomes too small for the current root system. Use the pot slightly bigger than it was before.
