You will receive 2 print-ready, high-quality PDF files, card size 3 ⅜” x 4 ¾” (8.5cm x 12 cm) with bleeds and trim marks, meant to be printed and trimmed likewise and back-to-back, although purchaser may prefer top sides only. This contains 10 printable pages total in 2 PDF files plus 1 PDF of FYI.

▪ This product works best if it is printed in color. Printed colors vary slightly from digital colors. Colors may vary from one device screen to another.

▪ RECOMMENDED: PRINT AT A COPY CENTER, if possible, for more professional-looking results.
Provide the copy center specialist with both PDF print files (front and back). Please consider and inquire with them about achieving “right-side up” result as mentioned above; they should understand this and what is their process. Print on 350g matte paper (or even harder if possible). You can order to round the corners in the paper cutting process to get a professional “card” look. You can also get cards laminated, if you prefer, especially for handling and durability.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

▪▪ Who can play the game?
We recommend ages 5+. However, preschool kids can definitely play in modified ways with modeling and demonstrations.

▪▪ How long does this activity take to complete?
Estimated completion time is based on a few factors: how much time do you have to play, how long are the attention spans of the children, and how long do you wish to stretch the cards. There are 54 finished prompts and 18 open-ended ones, so you could take the activity in short durations over a period of days, especially if used for brain breaks, warmup, or even as a kinesthetic learning extension during a robotics unit.

▪▪ How many kids can play at once?
As many as there are (within reason!). They can play on their own or with partner(s), in small group or even “whole group.” What’s great about the cards is that it requires one person and is then unlimited.

▪▪ Do I need special equipment?
You will need either to take the files to a professional printing center, or if you print the cards yourself, you will need a printer, paper, and scissors to cut them. We do recommend using a heavier cardstock and/or laminating the cards for long-term use. However, you may choose to print out as needed for personal use.

▪▪ How much space do I need?
It’s really up to you. You need a safe area in which to play, which may be the living room, part of a classroom, or a gymnasium.

▪▪ What if the kids get stuck on one of the cards?
One way is to model/demonstrate what is needed in the prompt. You could give a hint if it’s more in a game-style play. A great idea is to let the kids ‘invent” what they think it is! Sometimes that leads to the actual understanding, more ideas beyond it, and hopefully a good laugh. There’s nothing wrong with sneaking in some literacy and comprehension into their playtime.
