Vintage “Amazing Grace Scottish Piper” Cotton Kitchen Towel, Circa 1990s

New and unused. Vintage. Folds from storage.

This towel comes from the famous linen mill in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. This mill sadly shut its doors in 2021 after 200 years of operation. Kirkcaldy was the center of linen works in Scotland. This towel features a Highland Scottish Bagpiper piping out the well known hymn of Amazing Grace which is played at almost every funeral. The top and bottom of the towel features a row of Scottish thistles, which is the national flower of Scotland. The musical notes and lyrics of Amazing Grace are also featured on this cotton towel.

~~ Compulsory Off-Site Ad Program ~~

Etsy forced its sellers into a costly COMPULSORY Offsite Ad program when a threshold revenue is achieved. First, they forced us into offering Free Shipping by changing their search engine optimization (SEO) to favor listings with free shipping. So, in Etsy’s threshold calculation, the “revenue” includes these shipping costs that we sellers sometimes cover. Etsy cherry-picks the 12-month window for inclusion in the program. My shop was swept into this predatory program during the height of Covid-19 Lockdown when online sales skyrocketed. We can never get out of this program, even when our revenue falls back to normal. Please, always go directly to etsy.com to make a purchase if you see something you like in an off-site ad – don’t click on it! I understand that your click-through link stays active for a month. Thank you! (Offsite Ads are located on Social Media apps (FB, IG, etc) and search engine results on google/yahoo/etc.)

Unless otherwise stated, the listed item comes to me via Estate Sales or Charity Shops. I strive to give you accurate, complete descriptions. I will note any damage, smells, etc. that I find. Vintage items and clothing are pre-owned; so expect some wear/usage.

Also, I cannot know the history of the item and whether it has come in contact with pets, smoke, etc. However, my home is smoke-free and pet-free.

All that said, I wouldn’t sell something to you if I wouldn’t have it for myself. See my 5-star feedback and purchase with confidence.

If you live in the Denver Metro area, and would like to pay in person and pickup, please convo me to set up a custom listing for you.

Etsy now requires items of $10 or more to be mailed with tracking. Therefore, even items such as cross stitch charts and pattern leaflets which could qualify for First Class letter mail for about $1.50 (no tracking) will need to be shipped with tracking (~$4). This isn’t shop owners’ requirements; it is Etsy’s.

Whenever possible, I will combine shipping to save costs. I’ve guesstimated the shipping costs. Any overage of $1+ will be refunded after the parcel has been shipped.

If you are using an overseas shipping consolidator, your purchase is only guaranteed to reach the domestic US address provided in your order details. Your purchase is an acceptance of this condition.

Reuse is the most sincere form of recycling. Therefore, when available, you will receive your item in pre-used packaging. Please consider reusing again.



~~Payment~~

Vintagevivvy accepts all forms of Etsy payment. Etsy processes all financial transactions, including calculating sales taxes and payment directly to your state. Sellers have no visibility to your payment details.

Etsy is making finding what you are looking for even harder than ever! Now, you get five rows of Category results before getting to the general results. Some folks may like this, but not me. Follow these tips to help narrow down your search quickly.

1. Enter specific keywords in the search box.
2. Start with “vintage” if you are searching for something vintage.
3. Scroll down the results page past the Category rows.
4. Change the default SORT from ‘relevancy’ to any other option. This will eliminate a lot of useless listings.
5. If your search hasn’t found anything, Etsy will still give you a bunch of listings, but also tell you, very inconspicuously that your search “had no results” in the upper left corner of the page (in a web browser).
