I would consider myself, at this point in my life, an expert crocheter. I have been crocheting since I was 7 years old and have made HUNDREDS of afghans over the years. This one is beautiful and simple, the pattern is easy to follow, and works up gorgeously!

Pattern was good, I was able to follow it pretty easily. There are photos to help with remembering front and back post crochet. I bought 8 skeins of lion brand pound of love, based on the yards given, but ended up only using four, with a bit left over. I added three extra rows of the main pattern, and an extra row of the trim. It's really thick, especially because of all the back posts. It's like two blankets layered over each other. The length is good for a lap blanket, to cover the feet and legs. I was able to easily classify questions I had about the pattern, because I found the instructions for the trim is a little confusing at first. The cable is really pretty, and I'm excited to give this blanket as a gift!
