Long banned novel by the author of the Alexandria Quartet. Durrell began writing The Black Book in 1936, about 2 decades before the Quartet. Reviewed by Time Magazine as "Glittering, exultant, outrageous...gloriously drunk with sex, sin, scorn, youth and his own deflowering genius..."
Condition: Good+. Some light wear to cover edges and spine. Spine is cocked. Pages tanned but not brittle. 1st page has separated and the following 2 pages show signs of loosening. The remaining pages are clean, unmarked, and tight.
