6in laser engraved Hekate wheel on 5 mm Basswood plywood, stained in carbon grey. Due to the nature of the wood and its grain, the color may be slightly darker or lighter, and you may see the grain.

Hekate is a goddess of Greek mythology capable of both good and evil. She was associated with witchcraft, magic, the Moon, doorways, and creatures of the night like hell-hounds and ghosts. Hekate often carries a torch in her connection with the night. She has three faces for her role as the goddess of boundaries and the guardian of crossroads. Hekate was the chief goddess presiding over magic and spells. She witnessed the abduction of Demeter’s daughter Persephone to the underworld and, torch in hand, assisted in the search for her. Once Persephone was reunited with Demeter, Hecate embraced the girl. She would become Persephone’s companion in the underworld when the girl returned to Hades each year. Hekate is known as the mother of witchcraft and is known for bestowing protection and prosperity on those who worship her.
