This file was designed to be used in a laser cutter.


You can cut this in a couple ways. I cut the top layer and attached to a Basketball surface printed MDF from Smokey Hill. You could also cut the back layer from acrylic to give it a suncatcher look. I am a big fan of using an adhesive such as the 3m double sided adhesive to join the layers. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.

The file is currently made to be 4.5 inches round. It can be resized but it may cause issues with thin cuts if made smaller.

There is an extra layer that is in red. It’s the middle layer for acrylic but it’s cut just a tad smaller so that it doesn’t lay outside of the perimeter. When I use flex acrylic, it cuts just a tad bigger then the ornament so I created the red layer to compensate for that. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

I would recommend making this item with 1/8th inch (3mm) wood or acrylic.

These files have been tested with a 100w laser using Lightburn software.
