4,000 YEARS IN THE MAKING : 100% HANDCRAFTED BY TRIBAL ARTISANS

🔳 A happy deity blesses your space!

Oh, the subtle charm that a Lord Ganesha brass statue brings to any space! Many people keep Ganesha on their office desks, some near a window sill, others on their car dashboards. There’s no place on earth where a beautifully handcrafted Ganesha won’t look good. Tribal craftsmen have created this specific piece with soft tones and shapely patterns with the signature Bastar style of Ganesha ears. The little mouse sitting coyly beside him gives this piece a charming vibe.
This sculpture blends Indian folk art with tribal craftsmanship, symbolizing wisdom, prosperity, and protection. The rustic design reflects the ancient metal-casting techniques that give it an authentic, antique look.

🔳 THE LEGEND:
Lord Ganesha, the beloved elephant-headed god of beginnings in Hinduism, is revered for bringing good luck and removing obstacles. In India, it's customary to honour him at the start of any new endeavor. Known for his human body, cute trunk, and chubby features, Ganesha is celebrated with great enthusiasm during Ganesh Chaturthi, especially in Maharashtra, where huge idols adorn the streets. The popular Marathi chant, "Ganapati bappa moriya, pudhachya varshi laukar yaa," echoes everywhere. Ganesha is also regarded as the patron of arts, sciences, intellect, and wisdom

🔳 THE BRONZE AGE CRAFTING TECHNIQUE
Dhokra art technique is as old as the Bronze Age. The famous “Dancing Girl” sculpture that we learnt about in school was crafted in Dhokra in Mohenjo-Daro, the great ancient city of the Indus Valley Civilization. The technique of making the Dhokra art is said to have originated from there and preserved from generations for more than 4,000 years. As the name suggests, this specific turtle has been Dhokra crafted by artisans of Bastar region in Dhokra (or Dokra) - a material famed for its 12-stage lost-wax-technique.
