This is a lovely Victorian Mauchline ware pincushion featuring Edinburgh Castle. It measures approximately 5.5 cm in diameter. The back of the pincushion tells you it was made from wood grown at Abbotsford Scotland, the home of Sir Walter Scott. The edge of the pincushion is covered in a purple velvet fabric. There are light signs of wear to both the wood and the fabric, although it's in lovely condition as you can see in the photos. A beautiful antique sewing collectable.

I'm now using eco-friendly packaging for all orders including biodegradable brown craft paper tape, biodegradable bubble wrap and void fill packing chips and, where possible, reused boxes. The only thing I've not yet been able to find is eco-friendly clear tape used for attaching shipping labels, so if you're aware of any such thing please let me know where I can find it. I'd love to be able to offer 100% eco-friendly packaging!
