These vegetable tanned sheep leather covers are from the South of Argentina, Chubut province (Patagonia). The sheep wool type is "Merino", the whitest and softest.

They raised grass fed, organic as it's usual in Argentina. They are part of our diet as the sheep consumption in Argentina is one of the highest of the World. We call Cordero Patagonico, the most popular meal when you are at Patagonia Region (south of Argentina).

Among the various methods of tanning, the vegetable is the classic, traditional and recognized; the only one who can give the leather its unique characteristics; the most natural and most environmentally friendly. It is able to converge in a single product the features of comfort, appearance, style, tradition, exclusivity and versatility.

The raw materials used for vegetable tanning are natural, tannins available liquid or powder form, obtained from various parts of plants such as wood, bark, fruits, pods and leaves. The most common tannins obtained from chestnut wood (Castanea sativa), wood Quebracho (Schinopsis lorentzii), pods of Tara (Caesalpinia spinosa), catechu (Acacia catechu), gall oak China (Rhustyphina semialata), Gambier ( Uncaria Gambir), corteze of Acacia and Mimosa (Acacia meamsii), Mirabolano (Terminalia chebula), oak (Quercus sp), Sumac leaves (Rhustyphina coriaria), galls Turkey oak (Quercus infectoria) and cupolas of Wallonia ( Quercus macrolepis).

How to care?

We can wash them at home using neutral soap or white soap. It may also be detergent. You rinse well, and in the last rinse you add fabric softener. You extend with all the water and wait for it to dry. You can sprinkle moth spray, on the market are several brands. If the wool is very tangled, before hanging it to dry brush it with stiff bristle brush in the direction of the hair.
