Highlights
A smokey brown candy dish or small bowl made by the American company Viking Glass in the 1970s. The sides are formed of overlapping ovals surrounding a centre dotted with small bumps. This resembles perhaps a sunflower, or feathers, or rocks... it has a very naturalistic quality. The brown tint of the glass darkens at the edge of each element, outlining them with a very beautiful optical effect. Three of the side pieces extend a little further downwards to become the feet that the bowl sits on. A rarely seen example of American mid century design.
