This is a printable template for making a bellied handmade pottery mug. It is a printable slab pottery template that is easy to follow and straightforward to use.

The template is designed for you to print on a regular domestic-sized A4 or Letter-sized printer. You can adjust the size of the template by scaling the template up or down in size when you are printing.

When the template is printed at it's original size, the mug has a capacity of between 16 - 17 fluid ounces. Though this can be increased or decreased if you change the size of the template when printing.

You will receive the download as a PDF and there are links on the PDF so that you can watch a step-by-step video on how to use the template and make your mug. There is also a step-by-step written guide with photographs to follow along with too.

The mug has a generous shape with lovely large flat surfaces that can be decorated in whatever way you choose.

I recommend making the mug out of stoneware pottery clay, but you can use earthenware or porcelain clay. Pottery clay needs to be fired in a pottery kiln to make it ceramic and suitable for holding liquid.
