These are **round opening / turbo-style hermit crab shells** selected as a growth pack to give your crab properly sized shell options as it grows.

All shells are **100% natural sea shells** and are never painted or varnished, making them safe for hermit crabs.

Every Turbo Shells order includes a detailed, hands-on preparation process.

1. HAND-SELECTED

Each shell is individually selected based on the sizes you choose when ordering.

2. QUALITY INSPECTED

Each shell is carefully inspected for:

* Cracks
* Holes
* Chips
* Structural damage
* Defects that could prevent the shell from holding water

We also ensure the shell can hold water, which is important for proper hydration and shell water storage.

3. PRECISELY MEASURED

Every shell opening is carefully measured to match your requested size as closely as possible.

Even small differences in shell opening size can matter when a hermit crab is selecting its next home.

4. ROUGH EDGES ARE SMOOTHED

We carefully inspect each shell opening and file or smooth rough edges when needed to help protect your hermit crab’s delicate eyestalks and soft body.

5. SANITIZED

Each shell is sanitized by boiling it in **Prime®-treated dechlorinated water with marine salts**.

6. WATER-TESTED

Shells are water-tested to help identify hidden holes or leaks before they are packed for shipment.

7. SHELLS ARE WRAPPED, LABELED & EASY TO VERIFY

Shells with openings **greater than 1 inch** are first individually wrapped to help keep them clean and protected during shipping.

Each wrapped shell is then labeled with its exact measured opening size.

A **shell-measuring ruler** is also included with your order so you can easily verify your shell measurements.

8. CAREFULLY PACKED

Your order is carefully packed with protective materials to help reduce the chance of chips, cracks, or breakage during transit.

9. A LITTLE EXTRA

We also include a ruler for size verification and a special hermit crab treat as a thank-you for your order.

The hermit crab shells we select for you will be based on availability within your chosen size range.

If you have a particular shell preference, please message us before ordering and we will be happy to let you know whether it is currently available in your requested size.
