Venus Autograph Fountain Pen and Mechanical Pencil Set, by American Pencil Co., Original Box, 1944-1946

Venus Autograph fountain pen and mechanical pencil in what I believe is blue and white striped celluloid, manufactured 1944-1946.

The fountain pen measures 5-1/4” long with the cap on, 4-1/2” without the cap. The gold color fill lever and cap clip are marked MADE IN U.S.A. The barrel of the pen is stamped VENUS AUTOGRAPH over AMERICAN PENCIL CO. over HOBOKEN MADE IN U.S.A NEW JERSEY. The nib is marked SPECIAL ALLOY, MADE IN U.S.A., and one point of the nib is missing. The rubber ink bladder appears to be in good condition, and is soft and pliable. The overall condition of the pen is very good to excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks.

The matching mechanical pencil measures 5” long, and the gold color clip is marked MADE IN U.S.A., VENUS. The metal eraser holder under the end cap is somewhat bent, and is missing an eraser. The mechanical pencil works. The hole in the tip of the barrel appears to be slightly worn. The mechanical pencil is in very good to excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks.

The original box is marked Venus Autograph. Inside the lid is marked American Pencil Company, MADE IN U.S.A., Hoboken, N.J., TRADE MARK REG. The lid of the box is worn, and one end has separated. The bottom of the box is in good to very good vintage condition.

3. Let us know immediately;
4. File a claim with the carrier.
NOTE: The responsibility of filing the claim will fall upon the recipient (buyer). The post office has been requesting that damaged items, boxes and associated packing materials be brought in for inspection, and it is not possible for us (the shipper} to do so.

If the price was more than $100.00, the package is insured by Ship Insure through Etsy, and it is the responsibility of the recipient (buyer) to:

3. Let us know immediately, including a detailed description of damages.
