Highlights
The “Kyoto” barstool is entirely made with recycled oak wine barrel staves from French wine barrels.
Kyoto is the barstool version of our Rialto design and, as every other Stil Novo Design’s exclusive creation, it’s a perfect combination of sturdiness, functionality and inimitable style.
By using the natural arch of a barrel stave, we are able to create this particularly attractive silhouette, reminiscent of oriental flavor.
The top and the sides are stained with the red wine previously held in the barrel and complemented with a rich ‘cherry chocolate’ finish, while the rest is stained with a warm golden oak color.
The solid wood of an oak wine barrel has a very distinctive element of charm that is conveyed into every object we create. Every individual barrel carries the signs of its unique history in every stave.
As no barrel band is the same, each piece might show natural imperfections, slight variations in color, grain & dimensions, all adding to the uniqueness of every item.
Each one is individually handcrafted, sanded back to its original wood and creatively reinvented.
The Kyoto measurements are about 24” high, base 20” at the largest point. The seat is about 18” x 11”
(Each barrel stave is different so the size is ALWAYS approximate)
Stil Novo’s philosophy has always been “Artistry and attention to detail".
We are a family business dedicated to create the highest quality woodcrafts and specialty pieces.
We love the fact that we are able to help the environment by recycling the raw, discarded material and to turn it into an object of ‘practical elegance’ at the same time.
We welcome your requests for customized orders, special commissions and personalized ideas.
As every piece is made to order, please allow about 6 weeks to manufacture, plus shipping time.
Please contact us to order multiple units.
This piece ships using FedEx Ground Service and may require signature for delivery. Please provide a phone number upon ordering. Full insurance is included in the costs.
