Mathmos Bubble Blue or Orange 00s

MATHMOS Bubble (see: http://www.imovatedesign.co.uk/astro/LED1.html) was the first Mathmos Modern and Mathmos Mobile lamp due to its internal battery that allows it to hold a charge and be operated completely untethered.
Available in Blue and Orange.

Designed by Aaron Rincover, Bubble sent Mathmos into a daze about what could be achieved and how to create the next generation of ambient light powered by LEDs. It was quickly followed by the Mathmos Tumbler, Aduki and more. These pieces saw Mathmos transitioning from being the original inventor of the lava lamp to becoming the leaders in ambient kinetic lighting.
The Bubble lamp looks at its best in low level light when the glow from the LEDs can fully illuminate it.

The Bubble won numerous awards including Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA) 2001, D&AD commendation 2001, Red Dot Award 2001, Light Magazine Decorative Lighting Award 2001, Great Expectations Exhibition Design Council 2003, V&A collection 2006, "Bubble" "Skin" exhibition at Cooper Hewitt Museum New York 2001, "bubble" Design Council exhibition New York 2002 and International Design Year Book 2001.

The Mathmos Bubble is made from plastic and covered in silicone.
It turns on with a pressure switch located opposite the power input (see video).
The lamp can be illuminated when plugged in or will hold a charge for several hours allowing it to be used wirelessly (although it is less bright when used this way).

These Mathmos Bubble lamps are in a very good used condition.
The lamps are in working order.

The blue light comes in it's original box. This lamp continues to hold a charge so can be used wirelessly.

One orange light is boxed and comes with a spiral cable power cord but does not hold a charge and can only be used with the power cable.

The other orange light is unboxed. This lamp continues to hold a charge so can be used wirelessly.

The LEDs are integrated into the lamp. These bulb types have an expected lifespan of tens of thousands of hours.
It has a long (c.1.5m) power cable and a UK plug / Power Supply Unit (PSU).
The PSU is compatible with 230v 50Hz domestic power supply including UK/EU and others (but not the US). Countries with a different domestic power supply would require a "step up voltage converter" for the effective operation of this lamp.

These fun and innovative lamps look brilliant and would be a great addition to almost any room.
